Yes, of course, both express agreement.
But, for example, “I feel the same way” means you’re taking the same path, you’re walking along the same path or way.
Therefore it’s natural that it should mean “agree”.
Whereas I think with “That’s a good point“,
the person you’re talking to mentions something
you hadn’t thought of before.
