PRACTICAL CHALLENGE

Remember this is a challenge question.
So, you don’t have to get everything perfect.
Just do your best and use as many of the things
that you learned as possible.

And one hint to help you practice I think is to look in the mirror, right?
This makes it feel more like a conversation.
And also you can check your facial expressions to
see if they match the meaning of the words.

Simple Answer

Coworker – What’s up?

You – I’m sorry, but I can’t attend the meeting.

I’ve received a mail from an important client saying she needs to see me. That’s why I can’t go.

Tell me what you discussed tomorrow, okay?

Advanced answer

You – I’m afraid I won’t be able to attend this afternoon’s meeting. One of my most important clients has asked to meet me urgently.

Apparently, his company’s profits fell dramatically last quarter, so he wants some advice.

Anyway, could you please let me know what you discussed when I see you tomorrow?

Hey, guys.
So, I was wondering, since both of you are so much older than me,
if you had any advice for life for some of our younger listeners.
