What’s the difference between the countable use of “noise”
and the uncountable one?
If we say “noises,” we’re talking about specific noises with,
if you like, their own shape.
It could be an ambulance siren, guys shouting in the street,
dogs barking…
You know we’re thinking of each particular noise.
Whereas if you say “there’s too much noise” as an uncountable,
it’s more of a mashup of many different noises.
mashup：２つ以上のものを混ぜ合わせる
And you can’t figure out which noise is what.
It’s just a bunch of noise.
Shapeless.
